Position: Oak Bay Recreation Facilities Maintenance Role

Become a key player at Oak Bay Recreation Centre as a Facilities Maintenance Person. This position covers operational and mechanical maintenance for various recreational facilities.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in maintaining pools, arenas, and air support structures. You will work closely with the Facilities Maintenance Lead Hands to ensure efficient operations, utilizing your knowledge of heating systems and refrigeration. A minimum of five years of relevant experience is essential for this full-time role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain air filtration systems and chemical treatments

• Oversee building heating and pool heating systems

• Conduct ice maintenance for arenas and related tasks

• Perform custodial work as required based on operational needs

• Collaborate with facility maintenance teams on all required systems

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in recreation facilities maintenance

• Certifications in Pool Operator Level 1 and 2

• Refrigeration Operator Certification or 5th Class Power Engineer endorsement

• Current Emergency First Aid and CPR certifications

• Valid B.C. Driver’s License
