Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites is a locally owned, full-service hotel in the heart of downtown Victoria. Known for our spacious suites, exceptional guest service, and commitment to sustainability, we are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Worker to join our amazing team.

This is a part-time position with two (2) eight (8) hour shifts a week (Saturday and Sundays), primarily evening hours (1:30pm - 10pm) with occasional pick up to help cover for holidays or additional maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • General building maintenance for the hotel and surrounding areas
  • Perform maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and general repairs as directed by the Maintenance Manager
  • Routine maintenance and monitoring of the pool and hot tub
  • Respond to guest maintenance requests promptly, professionally, and with a service-first mindset
  • Assist with and complete longer-term maintenance projects as assigned
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for guests and colleagues
Qualifications & Experience
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel and restaurant environment
  • Broad hands-on experience with plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical, painting, HVAC, key card lock systems, mechanical systems, boiler systems, kitchen equipment and general upkeep
  • Have or ability to obtain a Pool Operators certificate
  • Skilled in the proper and safe use of all tools, equipment, materials, chemicals and products related to the department
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow through
  • Comfortable working as part of a collaborative, team-oriented department
  • High energy, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering an excellent experience for both guests and coworkers
  • Previous supervisory experience considered an asset
