QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
- Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
- POSITIONS ASSIGNED TO SUPPORT NSWOC NURSES ALSO REQUIRE:
Graduated from a recognized nursing program with Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification for Nurses who specialize in Wound, Ostomy and Continence, or completion of the International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Program or Masters in Wound Healing - Post-secondary courses in Adult Education, Process Improvement and/or Change Management
- Three (3) or more years of direct experience in adult education, quality improvement and/or policy/procedural development
- Experience working with Indigenous groups and fostering Indigenous relations with a focus on Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Actions
- Knowledge of program relevant legislation, policies and standards
- Knowledge of current, evidence-based gerontological issues and standards
- Valid BC Driver's License
- An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered
- Ability to provide leadership to staff and peers
- Ability to work independently
- Effective interpersonal, organizational and teaching skills
- Ability to communicate with clients and their families, physicians and colleagues from within Island Health as well as external organizations
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
