This protection services role is available across multiple Island Health sites. Travel between sites is a regular, ongoing requirement and the incumbent must be able to operate a motor vehicle where necessary.

Reporting to the Team Leader, Protection Services, the Protection Services Officer maintains and enforces the security of people and property in accordance with established policies and procedures. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring patient, staff, and visitor safety, continuously improving quality and safety, and responding to incidents as required.

Education, Training and

Experience:

Grade 12, recognized Basic and Advanced Security Training certification, Intermediate First Aid (formerly OFA Level
2) and at least one year of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Holds a valid B.C. Security Guard License, handcuff endorsement, and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
