Position: Protection Services Officer at Island Health

Ensure safety as a Protection Services Officer with Island Health across multiple sites in beautiful British Columbia.

Your role will focus on protecting staff, patients, and visitors while maintaining security protocols.

This position reports directly to the Team Leader, Protection Services, and plays a crucial role in safeguarding people and property across various hospitals. You will address incidents, enhance safety, and respond effectively to various situations. A valid B.C. Security Guard License and strong communication skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enforce security measures for safety of patients and staff

• Respond promptly to incidents and emergency situations

• Travel to multiple Island Health sites regularly

• Maintain clear communication with team and stakeholders

• Continuously improve the quality of safety protocols

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education and security training certifications

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License

• Intermediate First Aid training (OFA Level
2)

• One year of relevant experience in protection services

• Handcuff endorsement and physical ability to perform duties
