The Indigenous Youth and Family Liaison will collaborate under the Director of Family Development and Food Security as part of the Early Childhood Development team. You'll engage with community professionals to ensure Indigenous families receive vital support, enhancing school outcome goals.
Your role includes a blend of advocacy, community liaison services, and upholding cultural relevance within educational settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advocate for Indigenous youth and families in school environments
• Provide holistic community liaison services
• Connect with referral sources to facilitate support
• Collaborate with school staff for Indigenous student advocacy
• Maintain accurate case files and reporting
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in education, Social Work, or equivalent
• 2-4 years of related experience with Indigenous communities
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver's license and clean record
• Standard First Aid certification preferred
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultural practices and youth issues
