Become a critical part of our Shelter Services team as a Support Worker located in Victoria and Westshore. This role emphasizes compassion and guidance for clients in crisis situations.
In this casual position, you will provide support, referrals, and problem-solving for residents facing intimate partner abuse. Your responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions and working with a case management team to create effective service plans. A Bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Screen and assess new residents for program fit
• Provide immediate emotional support to clients
• Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions
• Help develop client plans with case management teams
• Maintain accurate documentation and client records
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
• Minimum of one year experience in similar setting
• Knowledge of group process and facilitation
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience with crisis intervention preferred
