Casual Residential Support Worker

Support residents in person with case management and crisis intervention at John Howard Society of Victoria in Victoria, BC. Overnight shifts are scheduled.

As a Casual Support Worker, you will support residents supervised on conditional release in Community Residential Facilities. The work includes documentation, house management, client support, and community engagement. Use relationship-building and a client-centered, strengths-based approach while addressing individual needs through action plans. This position reports to the Manager, Residential Programs.

• Conduct and document rounds and bed checks during shifts
• Maintain Duty Logbook and online case administration records
• Monitor curfews, conditions, substance misuse, and house rule compliance
• Develop and sustain Resident Action and Service Plans
• Maintain working relationships with community agencies and police

• Minimum two-year certificate in a relevant field
• Experience supporting vulnerable populations and managing case notes
• Professional verbal and written English proficiency
• Criminal Record Check and enhanced security clearance eligibility
• Ability to intervene effectively during crises
