Our Platform team is looking for Java engineers who thrive in classic stacks such as Java 8, J2EE, and Apache Struts. Candidates should have experience with Apache Velocity, Apache Tomcat, the Spring framework, and Spring Boot.

Responsibilities- Work with limited supervision and handle concurrent tasks
- Maintain and expand existing systems
- Develop and integrate new product flows
- Add new functionality to existing systems and create new web services or micro‑services
- Provide feedback to the team on technology direction
- Research and resolve customer issues
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field OR A.S. in Computer Science or related field with 2 years of software engineering experience, or 4 years of software engineering experience
- Strong Java programming skills with knowledge of data structures, design, and algorithm principles, including OOAD, design patterns, architectural patterns, refactoring and best practices
- Experience designing and developing web applications, web services, micro‑services, and APIs
- Familiarity with networking protocols (HTTP, TCP, UDP) and domain specific languages (SOAP, XML, JSON)
- SQL programming experience and familiarity with at least one No
SQL database - Working knowledge of Linux tools and scripting languages
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging in production environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Proficiency in languages such as C++, C#, Python, PHP
- Concurrency / multithreaded programming experience
- Java performance tuning
- Java web frameworks (e.g. Apache Struts
2) - Java JPA/Hibernate/JDBC, JMS, JUnit
- Experience with web APIs/REST APIs:
Facebook, You Tube, Twitch, Pay Pal - Understanding of web, network, and Linux security (SSL, TLS, OAuth, MFA, TFA, CAS, OWASP Top Ten, etc.)
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Docker, Chef, Ansible, Kafka
- Experience with CI/CD systems:
Jenkins, Git Lab, Git Hub - Designing and delivering scalable systems with high concurrency and availability on Linux platforms
- Monitoring and alerting systems with trend analysis
- Various build systems and tools
- Apache Struts framework
- Apache Velocity templating
- Spring framework
- Netty framework & TCP
- JMS, ActiveMQ
- Apereo CAS
