Position: AI Developer Tools Engineer at Thumbtack
Elevate developer productivity at Thumbtack as a Senior Software Engineer specializing in AI tools. Contribute to our innovative engineering platform.

As part of the Developer Experience team, you will enhance the productivity of our ~250 engineers by building critical AI-powered developer workflows. You will design and evolve important infrastructure elements and collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth operations and tool adoption. This role is vital for engineering success across projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and launch platforms for developer workflows

• Design interfaces for Backstage developer portal

• Manage Cloud Development Environment (CDE) infrastructure

• Upgrade build systems and CI/CD pipelines

• Evaluate and scale new AI developer tools

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of software engineering experience

• Proven skills in developer infrastructure and platforms

• Systems thinking in CI/CD and dev environments

• Experience with tools like Codex and Cursor

• Proficient in Go, Python, Type Script, and React
