Casual Bus Driver

Drive a school bus and support student transportation with the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education in Victoria County. This casual, on-call position focuses on safety, discipline, and bus maintenance.

The CBVRCE is seeking a casual Bus Driver to operate buses for the public school system, ensuring the safety of approximately 12,000 students. Successful candidates will perform pre-trip inspections, maintain bus cleanliness, and comply with all transportation policies. Experience in driving large vehicles and working with children is beneficial for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate school buses following safety standards

• Perform pre-trip inspections daily and for extra trips

• Complete all necessary transportation-related forms

• Maintain discipline and report incidents on the bus

• Attend driver in services and perform other duties

Requirements:

• Class 1, 2, or 3 NS Driver’s Licence preferred

• Experience driving large commercial vehicles

• Grade 12 education or equivalent training

• Valid Standard First Aid certificate

• Acceptable Criminal Record Check
