Casual HandyDART Bus Driver

Transdev Canada is seeking dedicated and compassionate relief casual HandyDART Bus Drivers to join our Victoria team.

As a HandyDART Driver, you will provide essential transportation services for individuals with disabilities and mobility challenges, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity. • Provide safe and courteous door-to-door service to passengers driving our cutaway-style buses.
• Assist passengers with boarding, securing mobility devices, and disembarking using appropriate on-board restraints for wheelchairs and other mobility aids.
• Comply with all traffic regulations, company Safety & Health regulations, and accessible transportation standards.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules, making stops at designated locations to ensure passengers' timely arrival at their destinations.
• Provide a safe, respectful, and empathetic environment for passengers, addressing their specific needs and concerns.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or maintenance issues to the maintenance team.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance and demeanour.

• Competitive salary of $28,24/hour with an increase to $31,08/hour after working 800 hours.

• You hold a class 1, 2 or 4 Unrestricted Driver's License OR a valid Class 4 Learner's License.
• You have a clean driving record.
• You must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing and criminal background checks.
• You have a strong commitment to safety and customer service, and enjoy interacting with the public.
• You can operate accessible transportation equipment and secure mobility devices.
• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• You desire to make a real difference in the lives of the customers you serve
• Prior experience in passenger transportation, especially with individuals with disabilities, is an asset.

• HandyDART Bus Drivers must be available for at least 5 days a week.
