Primary Purpose

• Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
• Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
• Develop or modify curriculum and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to student's ability level.
• Assist in helping students with replacement behaviors and teach students how to be successful in a classroom setting.

Qualification Guidelines Education/Certifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required certification for subject and grade level assigned
• Special education certification (preferred)

Experience

• 3 years' teaching experience
• ABA training (preferred)

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• General knowledge of applied behavior principles
• Excel in/Strong classroom management skills
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to capitalize on students' interests to better engage students and to encourage independent learning
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Uses information about individual student to make learning more meaningful and relevant
