Certified/Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) - (PRN)The Certified/Registered Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for performing all general and critical care respiratory care services as well as some specialized functions and training of new employees.
Performs all basic and advanced respiratory services including ABG’s, ventilator management, and EKG’s. Responsibilities will include PFT’s, and Pulmonary Rehab as needed.
- Performs basic respiratory care including oxygen therapy, medication delivery, aerosol therapy, CPT and pulmonary rehab. (EF)
- Performs critical respiratory care including mechanical ventilation and CPR. (EF)
- Performs patient assessments and reassessments.(EF)
- Performs diagnostic exams including PFTs, EKGs, ABGs and pulse oximetry. (EF)
- Performs phlebotomy and stress tests as applicable. (EF)
- Completes all documentation associated with aforementioned responsibilities. (EF)
- Maintains continuing education. (EF)
- Keeps all areas stocked and neat in appearance, participates in cleaning of equipment. (EF)
Job responsibilities apply to all patient populations including neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric.
- Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.
- Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital’s Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
- Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital’s Ethic, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.
- Performs within professional Scope of Practice at all times.

High School graduate or equivalent. Must have completed a JRCRTE approved school for Respiratory Care and be recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Certified Respiratory Therapist or a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
EXPERIENCE Preferred:ICU and neonatal skills
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTSRequired:
Basic Life Support, Texas Medical Board, National Board for Respiratory Care (after 2002)
Preferred:Advanced Cardiac Life Support
