Position Overview We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Insurance Specialist to support our patients and clinical team. This role handles insurance verification, benefit estimates, authorizations, and claims follow-up. The ideal candidate has dental or medical insurance experience, communicates clearly with patients, and is comfortable managing multiple cases l surgery experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities Verify medical and dental insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage before appointments

Obtain required prior authorizations and referrals

Prepare accurate treatment estimates and explain insurance benefits and expected patient costs

Submit claims with the required documentation and follow up on unpaid or denied claims

Review explanations of benefits, resolve claim discrepancies, and process appeals when needed

Communicate with insurance carriers, patients, and team members to resolve coverage and billing questions

Maintain accurate insurance information and notes in patient records

Work closely with the clinical and front-office teams to support timely scheduling and a smooth patient experience

Protect patient information and follow HIPAA requirements

Qualifications

Previous dental or medical insurance experience required

Experience with insurance verification, authorizations, claims, and denial follow-upOral surgery insurance or billing experience strongly preferred

Familiarity with both medical and dental benefits preferred

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines

Clear, professional communication and patient-service skills

Dependable and comfortable working in a fast-paced office
