Job Description

Entry‑level to proven competency position performing preventative and repair maintenance under close supervision on routine projects.

  • Follow all company safety, quality, and attendance policies; report safety hazards.
  • Basic electrical skills and LOTO compliance.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and correct mechanical, electrical, and process problems to ensure production equipment capability.
  • Provide 24/7 technical support for production.
  • Inspect production lines and support equipment, provide maintenance feedback.
  • Assist with assembly, installation, disassembly, and demolition of production equipment and building support equipment for upgrades or new installations.
  • Maintain neat and orderly work area; meet housekeeping standards; may assume additional housekeeping responsibilities.
  • Accurately record/dock detailed work information in work order database.
  • Coordinate with contractors for maintenance or project work; maintain building and grounds.
  • Participate in employee driven teams to address scrap, quality, safety or other production related issues.
  • Maintain and service printers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; specialized training through college, trade school, or formalized work training preferred. Two to four years work experience in industrial environments required.

  • Read and interpret procedure manuals, specification sheets, and other product documentation; write simple reports and instructions; must read, understand, and write in English.
  • Basic mathematical skills; understand percentages, ratios, weight scale, tape measure, and ruler for quality checks.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn basic electrical skills.
  • Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, work in warm, humid, and cool climates for 12+ hours per day or night, and stand, sit, kneel, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and crawl for prolonged periods.
  • Will work overtime as required; rotate on‑call schedule with maintenance staff.
  • Adhere to Berry’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Vision, Policy, and Standards.
  • Operate forklift, maintain forklift operator license, and operate hoist.
