Maintain safe and attractive roads, grounds and landscaping for the district.

Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED.

Valid Texas driver's license.

Knowledge of gardening and landscape maintenance.

Ability to communicate verbally.

Ability to operate riding or power mower, power tools, and hand tools.

Ability to work with people and take direction from supervisor.

One-year experience in gardening and landscape maintenance.

One-year experience in heavy equipment desired.

• Mow and detail all district grounds, including athletic fields.
• Water and fertilize grounds.
• Collect and dispose of leaves, dirt, rubbish, and refuse from district facilities.
• Assist with installation, testing, adjustment, and repair of sprinkler systems.
• Assist in moving furniture.

• Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
• Ensure that vehicles, equipment, and tools are in safe operating condition.
• Inspect and adjust tools and equipment for safety and efficiency.
• Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.

• Perform other duties assigned.

Heavy equipment, tractor and mower; riding and power mower; gas-powered weed trimmer; blower; edger; sprayer; striping machine; garden and hand tools; aerator. Truck or van.

Continuous walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, carrying and heavy lifting.

Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, outside and inside.

Exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals (fertilizer), and loud noises.

Frequent district-wide travel, works around machinery with moving parts; works on ladders or scaffolding.
