FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (PART TIME)

Location: University of Houston Victoria

We are hiring immediately for part‑time FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER positions.

Schedule:

part‑time, days and hours may vary; weekend required. Pay: $11.00 – $12.00 per hour. Prior food service or cashier experience is preferred but not required.

Performs cashiering duties, general food service work, and maintains sanitation standards in the preparation, service, and dining room facilities.

• Perform prep work: washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables; weigh and measure ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards. Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Store foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner, following outlined steps of service.
• Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner.
• Relay relevant information to supervisor.
• Perform sales transactions: enter sales into the cash register, make change, accept cards, issue receipts, and process refunds. Maintain cash drawer compliance with overage/shortage standards.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
