Responsibilities
  • Perform waived, moderate, or highly complex CLIA‑authorized tests with skill commensurate with education and experience.
  • Adhere to laboratory procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results.
  • Follow established quality control policies, document corrective actions when test systems deviate from performance specifications.
  • Identify problems that affect test performance and either correct the problem or notify the supervisor, director, or medical director.
  • Use independent judgment in a wide variety of laboratory procedures (Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, etc.).
  • Perform and document maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly, as needed) on instruments and equipment.
  • Review the accuracy of patient results before release/reporting.
  • Recognize age‑specific differences in expected results from newborn to geriatrics.
  • Ensure proficiency testing samples are processed like patient samples; report proficiency results before collaboration.
  • Perform venipuncture or capillary puncture across age groups as required.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and HR policies.
  • Lead the section or department during shift in absence of supervisor.
  • Possibly perform LIS and/or POC responsibilities.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the department manager or director.
Qualifications
  • ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
  • At least two years of hospital laboratory experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution (or other CLIA‑required education).
  • Current and valid State license if required.
Pay Transparency

Competitive compensation, including an estimated wage range of $43.00 to $57.87, with benefits. Final compensation will consider skill set, years of experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
