Job Description

Giro Pack, Inc. is hiring a Forklift Operator to support production operations at our Vidalia, GA. location. Currently the selected candidate will be trained Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, once training is complete the candidate will work 2nd shift, Monday - Friday (2:00 pm
-10:00 pm). The ideal candidate should have one year of prior forklift and warehouse experience, be self motivated with an eye for detail and very good administrative skills.

• Ensure safe operation of sit-down forklifts.
• Inspect trucks prior to loading/unloading of material.
• Loads and unloads product from and onto tractor trailers.
• Checks that loads are centered and properly stacked.
• Utilizes scanning equipment to track inventory.
• Documents arrival, departure and movement of goods.
• Checks trucking manifests and bills of lading.
• Shrink wrap goods and prepare them for transport.
• Ensures the safe and efficient movement of goods to assigned area.
• Perform stock movements in the computer system (SAP).
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Report forklift and equipment shortcomings to supervisor.
• Assist with inventory of stored materials.
• Supply sections with required materials.
• Move finished products from sections as required.
• Follow planning order and work priorities.
• Follows safety regulations and company guidelines.
• Conduct other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements And Skills

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds).
• Ability to read and understand packaging, shipping documents and safety guidelines.
• Previous warehouse and forklift certification.
• Communication and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and ability to perform basic math.
• Efficient individual with excellent time management skills.
• Commitment to safety rules and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast pace environment.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, peripheral vision, and ability with spatial relationships.
• Must be able/willing to work a flexible schedule

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $13.00 per hour
