Operations Manager
We are searching for a Welder Superintendent to lead operations on a major natural‑gas project located in Vidor, TX for Optimized Process Designs LLC (OPD). OPD is a respected engineering and construction firm based in Katy, TX, that specializes in the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical sectors. The company is part of the larger Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) organization and offers a full‑service model combining engineering, procurement, and construction.
Role Overview- Strong knowledge of welding procedures, weld integrity, and best practices.
- Leadership of multiple general foremen and crews.
- Assignment of job tasks to foremen, ensuring proper training and readiness.
- Safety role model: enforce OPD and client safety policies, anticipate and report hazards.
- Provide work‑completed records to the OPD Site Manager.
- Communicate material requirements and schedule NDE for pipe and vessel welding.
- Coordinate with area General Foremen.
- Actively participate in a strong safety culture.
- Recognize safety hazards and risks.
- Attend on‑site safety meetings.
- Follow OPD and client safety policies.
- Be aware of changing conditions on a dynamic jobsite.
- Arrive on time each day, ready for work.
- Maintain a positive attitude and teamwork.
- Work outdoors in extreme heat/humidity, cold, or high elevations.
- Lift and carry items up to 60 lb.
- Stand for extended periods (up to 11 hrs/day); breaks every 2.5 hrs.
- Use arms, legs, climb, lift, balance, walk, stoop, crawl, twist, reach, and bend regularly.
- Use hands to handle, control, and manipulate tools.
- 3–4 years of Superintendent experience.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Prior experience in gas‑plant construction environments.
- Experience leading teams of 40–50 personnel.
- Strong safety model and compliance.
- Willingness to travel, including extended stays in remote areas.
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
- Willingness to attend or lead safety meetings.
- Ability to work shifts up to 12 hrs/day, seven days/week.
- Meet all physical demands of the role.
- Five or more years as a Superintendent.
