Our client is a growing CPA firm seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Tax Preparer to support a diverse client base. This role is responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients, with a strong emphasis on small businesses and restaurant clients
, and will also assist with tax return preparation for individuals and business entities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, client-focused, and comfortable managing multiple engagements simultaneously. This is a DIRECT-HIRE position.

• Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients, including:
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Bank and credit card reconciliations
• Journal entries and general ledger maintenance
• Monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
• Maintain accurate financial records and produce monthly financial statements
• Handle payroll processing and related filings as needed
• Assist with sales tax filings, including multi-state and local jurisdictions
• Communicate with clients to obtain records, answer questions, and resolve discrepancies

• POS system reporting and reconciliation
• Tip reporting and payroll considerations
• Cost of goods sold and inventory tracking
• Sales tax and meals tax compliance

• Prepare or assist in preparing tax returns, including:
• Individual (1040)
• Business returns (1065, 1120S, 1120)
• Organize client tax documents and supporting schedules
• Assist with tax planning projects and year-end adjustments
• Work closely with firm CPAs to ensure accurate and timely filings

Required

• 2+ years of bookkeeping or client accounting experience
• Some tax preparation experience (individual and/or business returns)
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Quick Books (Online and/or Desktop)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines

Preferred

• Prior experience working in a CPA firm or public accounting environment
• Experience with payroll platforms and sales tax compliance
• Familiarity with tax software (Ultra Tax preferred)
