Transportation Construction Inspector 2 - (183540)

In the role of Transportation Construction Inspector B, you'll be responsible for:
- Conducting and documenting observations of civil construction projects, including roads, bridges, transit, rail, and environmental projects.
- Collaborating with Inspectors, Construction Managers, Engineers, and Project Managers.
- Reading and interpreting construction plans, shop drawings, specifications, and contract documents, and identifying discrepancies.
- Tracking and maintaining project materials documentation.
- Performing routine material testing on concrete, soils, and other materials.
- Providing guidance to less-experienced field staff.
- Ensuring quality control tasks are monitored and documented for contract compliance.
- Working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Performing additional duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical school, associate, or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management.
- Valid Driver's license and clean motor vehicle report.
- Client-required Certifications.
- Proficiency with Plan Grid, Site Manager, AWP, and other project management software.
- Ability to interpret construction schedules;
Primavera P6 experience is a plus. - Local candidates preferred.
This position requires a governmental background check and preemployment drug testing.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Successful passing of drug screening prior to employment; ongoing random testing.
