District Support Pharmacist

Job Purpose And Summary

Within our Retail locations, our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence by modeling values, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for the pharmacy team.

• Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator, serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap.
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation.
• Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, coaching the pharmacy team, and proactively resolving insurance and/or medication issues.
• Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, engaging and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.
• Support the effective management of pharmacy inventory, focusing on protecting cold‑chain products.
• Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while supporting a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic.
• Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills; actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients.
• Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible.
• Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS Health policies and procedures.

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

• Travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Complete required training within designated timeframe.
• Demonstrate attention and focus, customer service, team orientation, communication skills, mathematical reasoning, and problem resolution.
• Fulfill physical demands such as mobile, lift, reach, and move items as described.
• Perform any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.

• 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.

The typical pay range for this role is $65.00 – $65.00. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
