• Responsible for installation, configuration, upgrading and maintaining Cognos 10 BI platform in a distributed AIX environment
• Perform Cognos Install and perform upgrades to Cognos
• Provide Configuration, architectural support & guidance for BI environment
• Administering Cognos BI systems on a day‑to‑day basis to ensure platforms meet our SLAs. This might include installation, support, configuration and tuning
• Provide 24/7 support for Web Reporting issues in the environment with ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues
• Implement migrations, upgrades, patches and service pack implementations in all environments
• Maintain Cognos portal customization and implement new customizations as per business requirement
• Maintain application security as per IBM best practices and handle access requests on a daily basis
• Implement proactive monitors on application and troubleshoot any performance issues
• Participate in Quarterly disaster recovery exercises to recover application in DR site
• Work closely with DBA team to address any performance issues related to Cognos reports and ETL modules
• Work with system admin and network teams to troubleshoot any system level issues impacting application health
• Available for 24/7 support in case of severity 1 production incidents
• Available for off‑hour/weekend support for patching and other application maintenance activities

• 6+ years of experience in Cognos administration
• Manage and drive third parties to the quick resolution of change
• Good exposure of infrastructure technologies
• Strong communication skills, ability to establish and maintain positive collaborative relationship with team members
• Experience in preparing technical design documentation
