Technical Consultant – Operations Engineer for Managed Cloud Services
Overview
As a Technical Consultant, you will work with a cross‑functional team to provide enterprise system support to Esri customers with complex and growing GIS implementations. In this role you will deploy and support customer ArcGIS deployments in AWS and Azure, helping automate and streamline operations, build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations, and optimize processes to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
You will also research and develop solutions using new cloud technologies to add value to existing deployments and develop new offerings. The position requires strong technical expertise, customer‑facing skills, and the ability to learn quickly while supporting complex enterprise implementations.
- Work in a multi‑disciplinary team environment to deploy cloud solutions for a wide range of commercial, utility, natural resources, federal, state, and local government customers.
- Deploy, administer, monitor, and troubleshoot ArcGIS Enterprise‑based solutions in cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
- Implement and validate solution changes, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
- Be proactive in recognizing and handling uptime and performance challenges.
- Engage with development, QA, and product teams to bring cases to resolution.
- Troubleshoot the system and provide root‑cause analysis.
- Provide rotational 24/7 on‑call technical support.
- 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and administering enterprise GIS solutions/systems that leverage the ArcGIS platform (desktop, enterprise, and online).
- Proficiency with the Esri product line, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and related desktop extensions.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact directly with customers who do not have an IT background.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills with the ability to think quickly.
- US citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or related STEM field.
- 1+ years of experience designing, administering, and/or maintaining cloud environments such as Azure or AWS, supporting 24×7 high‑availability production environments.
- Experience hosting business mission‑critical production environments with high uptime service level agreements.
- Experience configuring and deploying software onto managed Kubernetes clusters.
- Thorough understanding of Kubernetes concepts.
- Programming and scripting experience with Python, Power Shell.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL, Postgre
SQL, and/or other RDBMS. - Experience working with change‑regulated environments such as development, staging, and production.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or related STEM field.

$82,160 – $138,320 USD
