HIVE Support Engineer

Clearance: Active Secret or above

Delivers daily operational support, including troubleshooting user issues, investigating, and resolving system incidents, optimizing resource allocations, creating new schemas, creating/maintaining tables, DB objects, and performing routine system maintenance and upgrades.

As the HIVE Support Engineer, you will oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and optimization of Analytics Platform HIVE-managed data environments, ensuring the smooth and reliable flow of data across analytics platforms. Leveraging your expertise in big data technologies, SQL, and workflow orchestration, you will coordinate a team responsible for monitoring batch jobs, resolving operational incidents, optimizing query performance, and implementing process improvements.

You’ll liaise with engineering and analytics teams to troubleshoot complex issues, ensure data integrity, and drive continuous enhancements so that HIVE data assets consistently meet business and compliance requirements.

• 3+ Years of Experience
• HiveQL, SQL
• HIVE performance optimization, including data partitioning, indexing
• Data modeling, schema design
• Build automated data pipelines
• Build operational workflows using Python, Shell scripting, or similar languages
• Hands‑on understanding of Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, YARN, Map Reduce, Spark
