Network Administrator

Join us as a Network Administrator at NT Concepts
. This role supports the DoD enterprise Military Housing system, a complex set of 34 web-based modules used by over 10,000 active users to serve 2.5 million service members, DoD civilians, and families.

Mission Focus: Support the secure operation of the Military Housing system.
Clearance: Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain/maintain Top‑Secret clearance. US citizenship is required.
Location/Flexibility: Must be local to the DC Metro area and able to travel to Norfolk, VA as needed.

• Configure and manage network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Support VPN connections, firewall rule changes, and network access control.
• Monitor network health, performance, and security using established tools and processes.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and latency issues in coordination with senior staff.
• Maintain and update network documentation, diagrams, and configuration records.
• Participate in patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance activities.
• Ensure work aligns with DoD security policies and federal IT standards.
• Utilize network analysis tools to identify and mitigate performance problems.
• Monitor services with log aggregation, automated analysis, reporting, and alerting to support incident detection and response.

• Education: BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Clearance: Active Secret clearance required with ability to obtain/maintain Top‑Secret clearance. US citizenship is required.
• Location: Must be local to the DC Metro area and able to travel to Norfolk, VA as needed.
• Must obtain a CompTIA Security+ or DoD 8140‑equivalent certification within 6 months of hire.
• Foundational knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, VPNs, etc.).
• Strong interest in supporting secure networks within a federal environment.
• Ability to follow direction, document work clearly, and learn from senior engineers.
• Ability to utilize network analysis tools to resolve routine network performance problems.
• Working knowledge of LAN/WAN network operations.
• Prior experience with Cat5, Cat6, fiber, network switches, and patch panels.
• Experience with project and task planning, including scope, time estimation, and resource assignment.
• Problem‑solving skills to identify, mitigate, and solve network challenges.
• Strong interpersonal skills for professional problem resolution, leading teams, negotiating, and creating consensus.
• MS Office suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Ability to explain technical procedures to audiences with varying levels of technical proficiency.
• Team‑oriented mindset.

• Exposure to enterprise networking hardware and tools (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto).
• Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Experience (internship, lab work, or junior role) supporting network environments.
• Experience or interest in cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments).

• Must obtain a CompTIA Security+ or DoD 8140‑equivalent certification within 6 months of hire.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
