About the Role

The Payroll Manager oversees all payroll operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing for all employees across Take
2. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity and driving operational efficiency. The Payroll Manager partners closely with People Operations and department leaders to manage payroll systems, reporting, audits, and process improvements that align with Take2 policies and federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full payroll cycle, ensuring accurate and timely processing for a workforce of over 900+ employees
  • Oversee the Payroll team, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processing and timekeeping management in alignment with organizational policies and compliance requirements
  • Develop and lead the Payroll team through clear goals, accountability, and continuous learning to ensure operational excellence and professional growth.
  • Address and resolve payroll and timesheet discrepancies, providing support and clear communication to employees
  • Act as the main point of contact for new hire onboarding for Costpoint, leveraging comprehensive knowledge of all systems to streamline the process.
  • Serve as the trainer for new hires and team members, providing onboarding and ongoing training to ensure consistent understanding of payroll processes, systems, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead all payroll compliance activities, including tax filings, regulatory reporting, audits, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and full adherence to federal, state, and local requirements
  • Stay current with changes in payroll tax laws, wage regulations, and state leave requirements to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, ensuring proper handling of new hires and terminations, streamline payroll‑related processes, and address any issues
  • Partner within the Finance and Accounting team on payroll‑related general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and month‑end and year‑end close
  • Manage commission reporting and set up in Bullhorn, tracking all commissions, generating reports, working with the Business Unit to finalize payments for the payroll process, and distributing commission statements to supervisors and employees
  • Supervise draw management and compensation metrics, acting as the owner of draw management processes. Ensure all draws are processed in payroll
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in payroll operations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred
Required Skills
  • Experience managing payroll for a multi‑state workforce of 500+ employees (experience with federal contracting or government compliance is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., Paylocity and ADP)
  • Experience preparing for and supporting internal/external audits and compliance reviews
