• What You’ll Do For Our Patients
  Collaborate with medical providers and assistants; apply x‑ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment for all age groups.

The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with medical providers and/or assistants to examine and treat UPMC‑GoHealth Urgent Care patients. The RT is responsible for performing and analyzing patient x‑rays, reporting results to providers, and supporting administrative functions to ensure efficient operation of the centers.

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required.

• Experience in a clinical setting preferred.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire.
• State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required at the time of hire (if applicable by state law).

• Perform x‑ray services as needed, applying x‑ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment across all age groups.
• Ensure proper patient positioning and protection during imaging.
• Coordinate patient flow and prepare patients for examination, including vital signs and point‑of‑care testing.
• Maintain medical records, scan charts, and perform daily equipment checks, maintenance, and quality‑control logs.
• Support clinic operations and collaborate with the medical team to determine imaging needs and procedural protocols.

• Explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort and safety.
• Select appropriate radiographic controls and capture high‑quality diagnostic images.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning of X‑ray equipment, and manage supplies.
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols, implementing ALARA principles.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document completed procedures in electronic systems or logbooks.
• Verify image quality and coordinate image transmission to radiologists for interpretation.

• Proficient in x‑ray procedures and protocols.
• Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology for X‑ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement.
• Knowledge of radiology equipment and safety hazards common to the field.

• Accurately position patients for X‑ray procedures.
• Identify equipment problems and notify supervisors as needed.
• Follow infection control and radiological safety procedures.
• Meet criteria for sign‑on bonus as determined by the recruiter.
