Job Description & How to Apply Below
Our client is a rapidly growing federal contractor.
They are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator. In this role you will administer, secure, monitor, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure supporting the federal client's telecommunications systems, with a focus on AWS Gov Cloud, AWS Connect, Linux systems, automation, cloud security, and high-availability mission-critical services.
This role is remote, with occasional required travel to the DMV if a non-local candidate, or occasional onsite needs if a DMV local candidate.
Active Secret Clearance is required.
- Administer and support cloud-native infrastructure powering the federal client's telecommunications systems, with a focus on AWS-hosted services such as AWS Connect, EC2, and S3.
- Perform daily system administration activities within AWS Gov Cloud, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and patching of Linux-based virtual machines.
- Manage telephony workloads and services within AWS Connect to maintain high availability, security, and performance for mission-critical communications.
- Monitor cloud system performance using Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, and Splunk while diagnosing and resolving infrastructure issues to support 24/7 uptime.
- Implement and maintain system hardening, encryption, IAM roles, network policies, VPCs, security groups, and multi-factor authentication in accordance with the federal client's security standards.
- Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS Cloud Formation, Ansible, and Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
- Support secure cloud data backup and recovery processes while meeting federal continuity and audit requirements.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Dev Sec Ops initiatives in collaboration with cloud development teams.
- Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies, including planning sessions, stand-ups, retrospectives, and system demonstrations.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide rapid response to service-impacting incidents affecting telecommunications systems.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience administering Linux systems, including at least 3 years of experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, preferably in AWS Gov Cloud or similar secure environments.
- Strong understanding of AWS Connect operations, including call flow configuration, Contact Lens integration, and AWS Lex/Lambda integration.
- Experience implementing and managing AWS IAM, Cloud Watch, S3, EC2, and Cloud Formation.
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, routing tables, security groups, and load balancing.
- Hands-on experience automating cloud infrastructure using Ansible, Terraform, Cloud Formation, or similar IaC tools.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP-aligned controls.
- Experience working in SAFe Agile environments using Jira and Confluence.
- Active Secret clearance or higher.
- Salary up to $120,000. Pay rates are based on experience, qualifications, location, and certifications, and are subject to change at any time.
