Job Purpose:

Lead drilling and wellsite HSE activities for clean energy projects by driving implementation of safety systems, operational risk controls and regulatory compliance measures to support safe execution of drilling, workover and associated field operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement HSE plans, procedures and operational safety frameworks for drilling, workover and wellsite activities.
Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments and job safety analyses for drilling operations, rig movements, pressure-related activities and field execution tasks.
Review drilling programmes, operational procedures and contractor execution plans from an HSE and operational risk management perspective.
Drive implementation of permit-to-work systems, isolation procedures, confined space controls and high-risk activity management at drilling sites.
Monitor drilling operations, rig activities and contractor practices to identify unsafe conditions, operational risks and compliance gaps.
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action tracking related to drilling and wellsite operations.
Coordinate emergency preparedness drills, well control response planning and crisis management activities at operational locations.
Conduct HSE audits, site inspections and compliance reviews across drilling rigs, contractor camps and operational facilities.
Coordinate with drilling, subsurface, operations and contractor teams for implementation of safe operating practices and risk mitigation measures.
Monitor compliance with statutory safety requirements, DGMS guidelines, operational standards and internal HSE procedures.
Drive safety awareness programmes, toolbox talks, behavioral safety initiatives and contractor HSE engagement activities.
Review contractor HSE performance, mobilization readiness and safety compliance documentation prior to field deployment.
Prepare HSE performance reports, incident trend analysis and operational risk reviews for management and project stakeholders.
Guide and mentor site HSE personnel and field safety teams through technical support and capability development initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline;
Diploma / Certification in Industrial Safety preferred.
12-18 years of experience in drilling HSE, operational safety or field safety management within oil & gas, energy, mining or industrial projects.
Strong understanding of drilling operations, rig safety practices, wellsite hazards and operational risk management.
Familiarity with DGMS guidelines, permit-to-work systems, emergency response and contractor safety management.
Experience in incident investigation, safety audits and operational risk assessment processes.
Strong stakeholder coordination, field supervision and problem-solving capabilities.
Willingness to travel and work across operational and remote project locations.
