Provide project controls cost engineering support to Directors, Managers, Project Managers, contractors, and other key team members. Develop and monitor annual budgets, actual and forecasted costs, and long‑range plans for transmission, substation, distribution, and gas (PECO and BGE) projects and programs. Utilize Exelon systems for budgeting, financial forecasting, cost tracking, project authorization, work management, contracts, and material tracking. Deliver comprehensive reports to support business operations and coordinate project authorization processes.
PrimaryDuties
- Manage project forecasting, accrual, and status processes; attend meetings and liaise with stakeholders for detailed project information.
- Assist in developing and monitoring budgets and LRPs for transmission, substation, distribution, and gas projects; monitor, track, and report budgets, forecasts, accruals, and actuals.
- Manage project and program financial risks; provide detailed variance analysis and support financial challenge meetings.
- Develop, organize, and present project and program performance reports for internal and external use.
- Schedule and facilitate monthly forecasting and accrual meetings; prepare project accruals, journal entries, and report variances to project management and controls leadership.
- Analyze project actual and forecast data accuracy to ensure compliance with internal and external Sarbanes‑Oxley audits.
- Manage the vendor forecasting process, serving as a source for forecasting and accrual inputs.
- Provide support to Project Managers for presentations and forms required for project authorization.
- Individual contributor position that works independently with general direction.
- Requires routine interaction with key internal and external stakeholders, executives, directors, managers, and staff.
- May require extended hours or shift work to support business operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Technical Field.
- 4–7 years of related experience, or 6–9 years of relevant business experience in lieu of a degree.
- Comprehensive understanding of standards, methods, and performance metrics in areas such as asset management, electric or gas operations, customer service, transmission, or distribution.
- Strong analytical skills for forecasting, analysis, and budget evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate financial risks and provide in‑depth analysis.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a customer‑driven approach.
- Knowledge of financial cost‑analysis practices, including trending, root‑cause analysis, and benchmarking.
- Capability to analyze complex data, recommend alternatives, and implement performance‑enhancing strategies.
- Advanced degree in Finance.
- 5–8 years of project cost tracking experience in the electric/gas transmission, distribution, and substation industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), project management tools, and Exelon-specific applications (e.g., WPT, Asset Suite, CIS, EPS).
- Proficient in business case development and presentation to leadership.
- Annual salary: $84,000 – $115,500 /year (paid annually).
