Ross, a Fortune 500 retailer with 2,200 stores, is seeking an Area Supervisor to support daily store operations in Villa Park, IL.

The Area Supervisor oversees a specific store area, manages associates, and ensures smooth store operations. When the Store Manager is on Duty, the Area Supervisor assumes full managerial responsibilities.

• Maintain a safe and secure store environment; correct unsafe conditions promptly.
• Secure building entrance/exit, Electronic Article Surveillance devices, cash office, armored carrier pick‑ups, and register area.
• Remove clutter and keep emergency exits clear.
• Test fire alarm systems on schedule and respond to after‑hours alarms.
• Treat customers, associates, and leaders with respect and professionalism.
• Present the Ross brand at all times and maintain a professional appearance.
• Keep all store areas clean, merchandised, and stocked according to standards.
• Process all merchandise with urgency and manage receiving and loss prevention duties.
• Maintain and execute front‑end operations, including cash register training, shortage control, and security tagging.
• Oversee fitting room cleanliness and tag audit compliance.
• Support administrative duties such as cash pulls, bank deposits, payroll administration, and associate scheduling.
• Demonstrate core competencies: work‑process management, business acumen, planning, talent building, collaboration, leadership, communication, and accountability.

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
• Basic mathematical calculations common to retail environments.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.

Ability to use all store equipment, stand, walk, and move around the store 100% of working time, lift and carry items up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks such as pushing, pulling, and operating janitorial equipment.
