Position Title: Assistant Mariners Swim Coach - Seasonal Summer 2026
Department: Parks & Recreation
Closing Date: Position is open until filled.
Starting Wage$16.50 - $18.50 per hour DOQ
Hours And Schedule- Preseason Practices: 4:00-7:00 pm, May 26 & 28
- Daily Practices: 6:30-8:00 am and/or 8:00-9:45 am, June 1-July 17
- Swim Meets: 4 home and 4 away dual meets; A & B conferences July 11 & 18. Schedule TBD.
Assistant Swim Coach is directed by the Head Coach and works with the Coach team to provide an excellent, positive experience for all swimmers and their parents. Assistant Coach works with the Head Coach and Jr. Coaches and accepts direction from the Head Coach, reporting to the Program Supervisor.
Qualifications And Skills- Must be a minimum 18 years of age.
- Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and/or current Safety Training for Swim Coaches certification. WSI is desired.
- Strong knowledge of competitive swimming, training methodologies, and competition strategies.
- Experience in competitive swimming and the ability to demonstrate all competitive swim strokes, starts, turns and finishes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with swimmers, parents, Mariners Parent Board members, coaching team, Program Supervisor, and Village administration.
- Ability to motivate and inspire athletes to achieve their full potential.
- Must work effectively and cooperatively with the Coaching team to produce a positive experience for all swimmers.

BackgroundCheck
