This position will assist in the management of the daily pharmacy technician requirements of the Pharmacy Department. They will assist with and provide leadership and training with pharmacy automation and controlled substance inventory issues including, but not limited to: ordering, receiving, transferring, automated dispensing cabinet management, sterile compounding, and controlled substances management. This employee will assist pharmacists and the pharmacy department team with providing medication services and pharmaceutical care to patients and other departments throughout the health system.

- Education:
High School Diploma or GED - Experience:
Six years of related experience. Requires advanced knowledge in highly specialized systems and procedures. - Licenses and
Certifications:
GEORGIA REGISTERED PHARMACY TECH; CERTIFIED PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - Supervision:
Regularly uses the assistance and supervises level I, II, III, and IV technicians to monitor performance, ensure accurate completion of assigned tasks, and provide correction when necessary. Must work closely with peers and supervisors as an efficient team member to promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Must meet all the requirements as outlined in the Pharmacy Technician Clinical Ladder policy and procedure.
- Must exhibit leadership skills: good listening, good communication, sound decision-making, and problem solving.
- Adapt positively to changes in workload and/or work schedule.
- Ability to work well in high volume, high stress situations.
- Ability to pass a basic written and practical competency examination. Must have a solid, working knowledge of medications: brand and generic names, dosage forms, common dosages, and common uses.
- Ability to interact and work well as part of a team oriented environment.
- Desire to learn and excel in leadership opportunities offered through the Tanner Leadership Development program.
- Experience or training in materials inventory management.
