Position: Medical Assistant (CMA / LPN / EMT)

Medical Assistant (CMA / LPN / EMT) – Villa Rica, GA

Peachtree Immediate Care has an immediate opening for a Certified Medical Assistant at our Villa Rica location. This is a full‑time position consisting of three 12‑hour shifts with a rotating weekend shift. The successful candidate must be willing to float between the Douglasville, Villa Rica and Carrolton Clinics as needed.

Peachtree Immediate Care is a leading urgent care operator in Georgia dedicated to providing the perfect patient experience so that patients can “Get in. Get out. Get better.” The role involves providing high‑standard patient care and acting as a liaison between patients and medical providers. We are looking for a caring, courteous, and efficient individual who is detail‑oriented, has strong interpersonal skills, can perform basic medical procedures, and maintains confidentiality.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate and interact effectively with personnel and patients.
  • Assist the Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner in urgent care and occupational medicine.
  • Perform patient intake, accept and return patient calls, and perform lab work, general x‑rays, administer medication, and assist in minor surgery as required.
  • Demonstrate high level of interpersonal and communication skills when receiving and greeting visitors, patients, and staff members professionally.
  • Perform duties within the scope of practice and maintain quality control and compliance measures.
  • Maintain equipment and prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
  • Document patient complaints, vital signs, current medication, and allergies accurately.
  • Initiate patient care before the provider’s exam according to standing orders.
  • Perform lab tests and administer medications, including PO, SQ injection, IM injection, intradermal injection, eye drops, ear drops, and topical when ordered by a licensed provider.
  • Perform venipuncture and apply dressing as instructed.
  • Follow proper procedures for occupational health services and radiographic image collection.
  • Assist the provider in preparing for minor surgeries and exams and perform wound care as instructed.
  • Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments/referrals and allay patient fears and answer questions as needed.
  • Communicate questions about the appropriateness of medical care through a chain of command as needed.
  • Suggest improvements to work methods.
Secondary Functions
  • Patient discharge, including reviewing written discharge instructions with the patient or responsible party.
  • Answer telephone calls per department standards and relay information as directed by the provider, documenting the same.
  • Complete routine equipment checks and stock supplies; notify staff of items needing to be ordered.
  • Attend pertinent in‑service and educational conferences and quarterly staff meetings.
  • Take primary responsibility for keeping knowledge and skills current.
  • Adhere to standards of safety and infection control in patient care.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistant; certification preferred.
  • Licensed Practical Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians, Basic Machine Operators, and Radiologic Technologists must graduate from an accredited school with applicable current state licensure.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Reliable transportation to commute to assigned regional offices.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and with patients in a high‑paced facility.
  • Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair when appropriate.
  • Ability to work all shifts including day, evening, and weekend hours as needed.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Experience

Prefer a minimum of 1–2 years in an outpatient/clinic setting. Duties are performed under the direct supervision of a medical provider and may vary by formal training and state guidelines. Individuals must only perform duties ordered by a medical provider and not prohibited by state regulation or statute.

Working Conditions

Work in clean, well‑lit, heated, and air‑conditioned areas. Exposure to unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases is possible. The work schedule depends on department needs and current staffing patterns. Holiday and weekend work as necessary.
