Urgent Care Provider Residency Program - Nurse Practitioners / Physician Assistants - April 2026 Class

Join CRH Healthcare, LLC for an intensive, paid three‑month residency in urgent care. The program is open to new‑grad Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants or those with no prior urgent care or primary care experience.

Program Highlights

  • Thorough curriculum covering diagnosis and treatment of chronic and acute conditions, plus hands‑on procedural training.

Program Content
  • Core training in:
    • EKGs
    • Heart murmurs
    • X‑rays (chest, abdomen, wrist/hand, ankle/foot, spine)
    • Occupational medicine
    • Injection preparation & administration (Toradol, Rocephin, Decadron, Depo‑Medrol, Epi, vaccines)
    • Testing (COVID, strep, flu, A1C, Hgb, glucose)
  • Procedural proficiency in:
    • Suturing (simple interrupted, continuous, horizontal & vertical mattress, subcuticular, including facial lacerations)
    • Incision & drainage (abscess, paronychia/felon)
    • Digital block
    • Nail procedures (removal, wedge excision)
    • Pelvic exam
    • Extensive eye exams (fundoscopic, Wood’s lamp, fluorescein stain)
  • Clinical work‑up of conditions such as:
    • URI, sinusitis, otitis media, strep, pharyngitis
    • Bronchitis, pneumonia
    • Abdominal pain
    • Sprains, strains, fractures, MVAs
    • Dizziness, headaches, chest pain, anaphylaxis, bites/rashes, burns
    • Cellulitis, fever of unknown origin, stroke, dehydration, UTI/pyelonephritis, STI, vaginal discharge/PID, work‑man’s comp injuries
Program Progression
  • Month 1:
    Shadowing Med‑Leadership, learning EMR, completing a new‑provider guide.
  • While completing the first 90 hours, clinicians gain independence but still consult as needed.
  • Month 2:
    Continued training, still seeking consultation each shift; door‑to‑door times shorter than 60‑65 minutes.
  • Month 3:
    Practicing independently with minimal consultation and efficient patient flow.
Graduation Requirements
  • Complete a minimum of 40 hours per week for three months (≈ 480 total hours).
  • Pass the DOT course and receive DOT certification.
  • Finish the EMB Medicine Course in coding and pass the exam.
  • Display proficiency on the residency program checklist.
  • Attend the new‑provider training course if offered regionally.
  • Pass the residency certification exam administered by the CMO.
