Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Pediatric Care
Location:
Villa Rica, GA
Job Type: Part-Time
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide care for pediatric patients with special medical needs, including Cerebral Palsy. The LPN will work closely with the patient's family and healthcare team, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, to support the child's comfort, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care according to the patient's established care plan.
- Administer medications and prescribed treatments within the LPN's scope of practice.
- Monitor vital signs, observe the patient's condition, and promptly report changes or concerns to the supervising RN.
- Assist with feeding, bathing, positioning, mobility, and other daily care needs.
- Provide feeding tube care and operate prescribed medical equipment as trained and authorized.
- Reinforce family education on care techniques, safety precautions, and equipment use.
- Collaborate with the supervising RN, physicians, and therapists to carry out individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided, medications administered, and patient observations.
- Follow infection prevention procedures and patient safety protocols.
- Participate in ongoing education and training related to pediatric nursing.
- Active LPN license authorizing practice in Georgia, required.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatric or neurological care.
- Current CPR certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or willingness to obtain it, if required for the assignment.
- Compassionate, dependable, and patient-centered approach to care.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with families and healthcare professionals.
- Experience caring for children with Cerebral Palsy or similar neurological conditions.
- Familiarity with feeding pumps, mobility aids, and other pediatric medical equipment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
