** Union Tank Car Company is seeking applicants to become a member of our production team at our full-service rail tank car repair shop in Ville Platte, LA.

** Primary Job Functions
** This is not an exhaustive list and employees in these classifications frequently may be required to perform additional duties. Not all classifications will be required to perform all job functions.
* Maintains the appearance, sanitary condition, and cleanliness of plant buildings and grounds.
* Performs dusting, wiping, polishing, washing, sweeping, and sanitizing.
* Operates equipment such as riding a lawn mower.
* Maintains area in a neat and orderly manner and reports work hazards.
** Eligibility Requirements
*** Must have a high school diploma, GED, or pass a Combined Basic Skills Test
* Must be able to work effectively and efficiently both as a member of a team and independently.
* Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
* Dependable and reliable to show up for scheduled work shifts including overtime.
* Willingness to wear required PPE at all times and always work safely.
* Ability to understand and follow UTLX operating procedures and policies based on safety and field training.
** Environmental & Working Conditions
*** Work indoors and outdoors, may be exposed to the elements.
* Physical effort in lifting and carrying materials and Ability to lift 50 pounds.
* Extends hands and arms in any direction to lift, pull, and carry tools and equipment.
* Kneels, crouches, bends in order to complete tasks.
* Climbs various heights in order to complete tasks.
* Exposed to dirt, fumes, smoke, and heat.
* Possible exposure to hazardous materials or hazardous waste from leaks or spills of these materials while moving or storing them.
