Journeyman Lineman - Non-union - ULCS — Utility Lines Construction Services

• Works from aerial device installing and repairing overhead distribution lines and equipment.
• Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cables as required by contract specification.
• Makes primary connections and terminations.
• Assists with assembling material on the ground to be installed by the line person and assists with the installation.
• Makes secondary connections at transformers.
• Assists with pulling in new wire and sagging.
• Assists with replacing and setting new poles.
• Works from the ground and clears work areas to maintain safe job site conditions.
• Interacts with the public and property owners to communicate work to be performed.
• Participates in safety training and adheres to regional safety policies.
• Operates tools such as hammers, wrenches, drills, come-alongs, jackhammers, power tampers, and related handling equipment.
• Works around noise and hazardous energized parts or equipment with appropriate PPE.
• Performs all other duties as requested by Supervisors.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Familiar with building two and three transformer bank poles.
• Ability to:
• work with hands above head for extended periods.
• meet and maintain weight restrictions for bucket trucks as identified by manufacturers.
• safely enter and exit aerial devices and bucket/derrick trucks.
• effectively cover up to safely complete work on energized lines and equipment.
• work efficiently from heights, follow directions, and work safely and productively.
• work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call-out work.
• climb wooden poles.

• 4+ years of trade experience required.

• Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

• DOT medical card is required within 90 days of employment.
• Valid commercial driver’s license preferred within 90 days of employment.
• A valid Driver's License is required.

• Must be willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.

• FREQUENT (up to 66%): walking, manual dexterity, seeing distant, climbing on/off truck, gripping, lifting 10–50 lbs, reaching, depth perception, carrying, pulling, climbing ladders/stairs, lifting up to 50 lbs
