Overview
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role at Aperion Care. - Be able to perform all functions under your active license as it pertains to your assigned duties.
- Know the residents you serve, providing care based on their care plans and physician orders.
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel to ensure nursing services and activities meet residents’ needs; create a warm, calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
- Receive/give nursing report at shift start and end; make rounds with physicians as necessary.
- Assist in all aspects of a resident’s daily life, including activities of daily living, meal service, and social engagement.
- Communicate with clinical leadership when a resident’s needs change.
- Know how to care for residents with dementia.
- Willing to take on other duties within the scope of knowledge and experience.

- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current unencumbered state license.
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, plus relevant laws and guidelines for nursing care facilities.
- Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
- Willing to take additional training or education as required by specific states.
- CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
- Flexible and adaptable with multiple priorities; strong written and verbal communication; good organizational and time-management skills; sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Required to sit, stand, bend, and walk intermittently; may lift/move up to 100 (units not specified).
- Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress; may include health requirements and medical/physical examinations.
- May be necessary to assist in evacuation during emergencies; visual and auditory ability sufficient for written/verbal communication.
