Float Nurse - Emergency Department Holds

Assignment Duration
This is an 8-week contract position with the possibility of extension.
Schedule
Days, 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM), with every other weekend required.
Job Description
The Float Nurse position will support the Emergency Department Holds, requiring the candidate to manage Step Down and Acute Care holds. Candidates must possess prior PCU experience and, while ED experience is a plus, they must have substantial inpatient experience.
Responsibilities
• Provide nursing care for patients in the ED Holds area.
• Manage Step Down and Acute Care holds effectively.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Participate in scheduled training and unit-based orientation.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Must have PCU experience.
• Inpatient experience is mandatory; ED experience is preferred.
• Current NJ or Compact RN license.
•
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS from AHA required.
• Proficiency in Cerner charting preferred.
