Locate Technicians are responsible for accurately locating underground facilities including, but not limited to, telephone lines, electric power lines, cable television lines, gas lines, fiber optic lines, water lines, and sewer lines. This position helps ensure compliance with client and state requirements. Duties include observing, locating, marking, and documenting underground and exposed utility locations using multiple methods.

• Locate and verify underground utility locations for utility customers.
• Observe, locate, mark, and document facilities using appropriate methods and tools.
• Work independently or in a team under an assigned supervisor.
• Interpret job order tickets, blueprints, and maps to plan and perform duties.
• Perform locates and emergency/on-call locates during regular, overtime, and holiday hours as necessary to meet customer needs.
• Maintain professional communication with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and third parties to ensure a damage-free environment.
• Use technology and equipment required for locating tasks.
• Assist in providing the tools and equipment needed to perform duties (vehicle, laptop, smartphone, PPE).

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• State-issued driver’s license
• Ability to problem solve and read/interpret prints
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and stand/walk for extended periods
• Excellent communication skills
• Background screening (no violations within the last 5 years)
• Pass a DOT drug test

In order to obtain employment, candidates MUST complete a background check with no violations within the last 5 years. Candidates MUST also pass a DOT drug test. All employees are assigned proper technology and work vehicles to perform duties.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour. Benefits for full-time employees include health, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) (matched by the company), Flexible Benefits Plan, and paid time off. Some benefits are available to regular full-time employees who average 30 hours per week, with benefits starting the first of the month after 30 days of employment.

Job Type: Full-time. Work on-site and on the road as required.

Schedule:

10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, on call, weekends as needed.
