Plant Manager – Vestis Corporation

Responsible for overall execution of daily plant operation activities while ensuring cost effectiveness, timeliness, and accuracy of processing along with high product quality and workplace safety for the entire production team. Manages staff to ensure safe, standardized, and efficient environmental compliance, equipment and facility maintenance, and processing of soiled products through wash and dry aisles, dryer offloading, sorting and bundling, and product storage or delivery.

Monitors production levels, proactively adjusting to meet product output targets safely and cost‑effectively, and aligns with quality standards. Builds and maintains a positive relationship with Market Center Management and keeps them informed of plant operation issues. Leverages Operation Support resources as needed to address and overcome plant operation issues.

  • Ensure consistent management and application of safety tasks and activities across the market center.
• Plant Management
  • Manage day‑to‑day production plant operations, ensuring safe, timely, cost‑effective, and efficient processing.
  • Oversee key activities including:
    • Wastewater / Environmental Compliance
    • Facility & Equipment Maintenance
    • Receiving and soil sorting/classification
    • Wash aisle operations
    • Garment finishing / sortation
    • Allied finishing
    • Bundling and distribution
  • Set and ensure plant operation goals are met for efficient, timely, quality, and profitable completion of activities.
  • Supervise maintenance team to review equipment, energy, and wastewater processing safely and cost‑effectively.
  • Collaborate with market center management to identify and implement systems and methods that improve safety and operational efficiency within cost constraints.
• Plant Operations Data and Performance Measures
  • Analyze production aspects of market center profit and loss statements and work with the GM to proactively enhance results.
• Plant Operation Team Oversight and Development
  • Hire, place, and remove production plant operations staff within the market center.

• Post‑secondary education (four years suggested) in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering/Technology, business or related discipline, or equivalent business/work experience.
• Four to six years experience in a corporate production environment with management experience.
• Proven track record of increasing responsibility with documented business results.
• Proven ability to build effective cross‑departmental professional relationships within a market center and operations support.

• Degree in Management or Industrial/Mechanical Engineering/Technology, business or related discipline, or equivalent business/work experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within a fast‑paced environment, handling ambiguous circumstances effectively.
• Experience with quality program standards such as Lean/Six Sigma; skills an asset.
• Demonstrated capability with competencies required for the position.

• Facility and Maintenance – knowledge of wastewater, facility and equipment maintenance.
• Production and Processing – knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective processing and distribution of laundry, linens, product, and services.
• Customer and Personal Service – knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluating satisfaction.
• Personnel and Human Resources – knowledge of principles and procedures for recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations, negotiation, and personnel information systems.

Primary location:
Roanoke, VA. Salary: $61,400.00–$79,800.00. Additional site:
Salem, VA with a salary range of $60,000.00–$70,000.00.
