Job SummaryResponsible for providing a high level of guest service to all guests, team members, and vendors. Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the property and its patrons. Responds to security incidents and ensures a visible security presence throughout the property. Observes patrons participating in gambling activities to detect and respond to violations of regulations and company policies. Maintains a high level of professionalism, customer service, and integrity while representing the company in all interactions with guests, team members, and vendors.
Assists with the effective and efficient operations on an assigned shift or in an assigned section as required by the manager. May provide training and guidance to newly hired staff and serve as a professional resource to co‑workers and team.

- Responsible for the safety of all guests and team members of the property.
- Record investigation and incident reports in a timely manner.
- Assist with the transfer of money throughout the property.
- Ensure patrols of the property are completed to ensure safety.
- Maintain property rules, policies and regulations set by the company and the Virginia Racing Commission (VRC).
- Stand posts in various locations for extended times as assigned.
- Control and diffuse potential problems and assist team members and guests in emergencies.
- Manage access to the property and restricted areas.
- Respond to calls for assistance immediately.
- Maintain radio contact with the assigned shift.
- Monitor checking of identification for gaming floor admittance; ensure guests and vendors are greeted positively and professionally.
- Maintain crowd control, ensuring a friendly environment and defusing guest incidents.
- Compose written reports; observe, handle, and report procedural violations and illegal activity.
- Report to the manager on day‑to‑day activities.
- Attend periodic meetings and training sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills And Abilities
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Successful completion of training programs as required by jurisdiction and property.
- Ability to communicate and comprehend information and ideas in spoken and written English.
- Ability to accept, prioritize and follow through on work direction.
- Ability to function well in a fast‑paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to remain calm, utilizing rational thinking and decision‑making by employing conflict‑resolution.
- Ability to work with both guests and fellow team members in a professional and courteous manner, promoting positive customer relations for all by providing prompt, courteous and efficient service.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in customer service, law enforcement, military, or security, or pursuing a degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field. Six (6) months in supervisory role preferred.
- Basic computer skills required, such as knowledge of Word and ability to learn and utilize menu‑driven programs.
- Must obtain valid racing license, where applicable.
- Required to hold a valid driver’s license with a minimum of three year’s driving experience.
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to sit or stand for extended amounts of time; walk for extended amounts of time; use hands to finger, reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The team member may also be required to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Team member will be subject to an environment with flashing lights.
- The team member is subjected to circulate throughout the assigned areas, including the smoking area, actively observing players and functioning of machines.
