Tax Accountant

The Tax Accountant supports the Tax Department with preparing and filing tax returns, maintaining accurate financial documentation, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

• Prepare and assist with federal, state, and local tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, and other entities.
• Calculate and prepare tax extensions.
• Organize, review, and maintain tax documentation and support work papers.
• Complete fixed asset and depreciation accounting.
• Monitor the flow of returns to ensure all filing timelines are met.
• Maintain and update financial and tax records.
• Assist with account reconciliations and general ledger updates.
• Identify discrepancies and help resolve missing or incorrect information.

• Ensure all filings comply with current tax laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Research tax issues and document conclusions as needed.
• Prepare responses and correspondence regarding IRS and state notices.
• Help track deadlines and maintain internal compliance systems.
• Work closely with tax managers on assigned projects.
• Assist in preparing reports, schedules, and analysis for internal and external use.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 3-5 years of tax or accounting experience preferred.
• CPA or CPA-track preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and tax concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently or collaboratively.
