• Collaborating with colleagues to develop programs, sharing resources, and communicating trends for teens.
• Planning and preparing exhibits and displays and participating in outreach that increase community awareness of library services and resources.
• Providing quality customer service and public relations.
• Conducting reference interviews; explaining library policies and procedures to respond to customer concerns; possessing a broad knowledge of print, non-print and electronic resources; developing search strategies to locate information.
• Developing innovative and informative displays, programs, and training that increase community awareness of library services and resources.
• Instructing customers in the location and use of materials and equipment; provide bibliographic instruction; recommending materials to library customers; provide assistance, information and materials to customers who have varied cultural, intellectual and technical interests.
• Providing instructions in the use of electronic resources including the Internet; providing assistance/training and troubleshooting to staff and customers for technology-related problems and devices
• Establishing positive, effective instructions and communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Applying knowledge of social, cognitive, emotional, and educational stages of youth and teens.
• Maintaining an ongoing knowledge of reading trends.
• Researching, designing and attending trainings to keep current on trends in libraries and teens.
