Paralegal Adjunct – Tidewater Community College, Virginia Beach, VA
Part‑time adjunct faculty position teaching Paralegal courses. This role requires legal knowledge, teaching experience, and the ability to engage students in various learning environments (classroom, Zoom, online).
Responsibilities- Create a learning environment that facilitates students' acquisition of knowledge and skills in the discipline.
- Align course activities with student learning outcomes and employ active learning strategies, technology, and supporting materials.
- Deliver instruction supporting learning outcomes, conduct assessments, and provide timely feedback.
- Work day, evening, or weekend as required by assigned courses.
- Hold at least one office hour per course every week.
- JD from an accredited law school (LLB).
- At least two years of related occupational experience.
- Effective written and electronic communication skills.
- Knowledge of immigration law and litigation.
- Teaching experience at the college level.
- Familiarity with Canvas or other LMS.
- Experience with proven teaching strategies that promote student success.
- Strong technology skills to work with institutional instructional technology.
