Brief Description

The Youth Sports Coach is responsible for teaching and supervising youth development classes of up to 15 students per class. The coach reports directly to the Youth Development Director and Youth Program Director.

The coach is the primary point of contact for students and parents, delivering excellent customer service. This includes orienting new students and parents, greeting and conversing with all participants before and/or after each class, and having detailed knowledge of the program and facility.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Set up and take down instructional equipment before and after each class
• Supervise children and ensure the playing/performance area is safe for all participants
• Work irregular shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Maintain current qualifications in accordance with program standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Youth Development Director, Youth Program Director, or the General Manager

Requirements

• Desire to work with children aged 18 months to 13 years
• Strong verbal communication skills
• High energy and enthusiasm during classes
• Demonstrated leadership skills, preferably with the target age group
• Strong time-management skills to meet class goals
• Commitment to work consistent hours for 10-13 consecutive weeks

Qualifications

Education and/or

Experience:

No formal education required; experience working with children is highly desirable.

Language

Skills:

Ability to communicate course objectives and feedback in English; additional languages are a plus.

Computer

Skills:

Proficiency with Windows-based systems and web-based instructional materials.
